So far we have only shared the news with the kids and our parents.
I told Micah the same day we found out because I knew he could keep a secret ;)
On Boxing Day we tried calling Andrew's parents to tell all four parents via speakerphone. But they had guests so that didn't work out.
The next day Eva and I went out with my Mom for a special Girls Only coffee outing. It was there that I told Mom that she would have a third grandchild! She got quite excited and even teared up a little. This was also the first Eva had heard of it, and she needed some time to absorb the information. It was very interesting to see her retreat into herself and turn it over in her mind for a while. She is definitely concerned about needing to be quiet, but she is also excited about holding the baby and helping out.
Later that day Eva told my Dad we would have a baby in our house. He didn't quite understand and asked for clarification. She repeated and when Dad looked at me I nodded. The shocked and excited look on his face was priceless.
Soon after we called Andrew's parents. They were also super excited! Alice told us she had actually recently prayed for the health and development of any additional grandchildren. Beautiful.
Part of us wants to shout out this news, and another part of us wants some time to treasure it as our special secret. We plan to wait until Feb 1. We'll see how long we can keep it to ourselves! I know it will kill our moms ;)
