I've been thinking I was five months pregnant, assuming four weeks for every month. Which made me feel like my "five month" belly was really quite big. (Sorry there are no new belly photos! Soon, soon...) But it turns out I'm actually six months pregnant, which makes me feel like my belly is more appropriately shaped.
This method of counting weeks and months is so confusing. Starting with the fact that we start counting weeks two full weeks before the baby is even conceived! So though I'm just about 24 weeks pregnant, the baby has only been growing for 22 weeks.
Anyway so I'll be six months until 26 weeks, then my third trimester and seventh month begins at 27 weeks- the day we fly to Winnipeg!

I too am oft confused by this. After thinking it through I was surprised to realize that 40 weeks of pregnancy (including those two weeks before conception) is actually 10 months - if you count 4 weeks for every month. Minus the 2 weeks preconception and the last two weeks (38-40 weeks when considered full-term), then gestation is 9 months. Very confusing, indeed. So as long as we're using the 4 weeks per month thing, then people who make it to 40 weeks could more accurately be considered 10 months pregnant! Nobody likes the sound of that, I take it. It obviously has to do with months being longer than 28 days which just confuses me when trying to figure out how many months. That's why it's much easier to stick to weeks. But most people outside of this field want to know how many months. For simplicity, I agree just to use the 4 weeks a month deal.
