Now What Am I Going To Do?

Got my last pending project done today (unless you count sourcing oral vitamin K)! I loved doing it. The merino wool is gorgeous and it was so gratifying to make something that is attractive and useful. I am really happy with how it turned out. It does have a couple of imperfections but hey, I'm a beginner. I badly want to do another one, but I think it would be smarter to wait until I see how it fits and works with Wee3 so that I can tweak accordingly for a perfect fit.

So tiny!!

I ended up buying a pattern and I'm glad I did. This pattern has a gusset and a bum extension which I think will make for a much better fit than the free pattern I experimented with some time ago.

In other nesting news, I cleaned the van inside and out this morning. And I have been a tyrant about cleaning up toys and whatnot.

Nesting Projects

Got the cloth wipes done! Two dozen.

Next two slated projects are: finding oral Vitamin K and Rhogam, and crocheting a wool diaper cover.

Turning Inward.... or Just Tired

The last few days I've been really pooped! At first I thought it was stress-out recovery. Then I thought it was the humidity. But today I don't have either excuse. AND I had a really good and longer-than-usual sleep last night. It just seems weird that I'd hit 37 weeks and WHAMMO all of the sudden feel different.

But I do. And it's mental too. I'm starting to feel kind of distracted and thoughtful. That isn't much of a surprise. But it does interfere a bit with daily activities.

I remember when I was pregnant with Eva I started my mat leave two weeks before her due date (on which I went into labour). But I felt ready to start a week before that.

I'm still chipping away at my preparations. I just remembered to wash the Boppie nursing pillow (gold, people, nursing pillows are pure gold). I put some garbage bags, a zip lock bag (for the placenta), and a receiving blanket in with my birth day supply stash. And I pulled out the flannel I had bought for making cloth wipes. Haven't done anything with it yet, but it's out and ready to be cut and sewn. Obviously not the end of the world if they're not done before baby gets here, but I can't see myself having much chance to sew after baby arrives. Speaking of that, I should get after that crochet diaper cover I'm planning to make...

Nesting and Pregnancy Brain

I feel a little different at this point in my pregnancy.

The nesting urge is strong and thankfully, it seems to be contagious because Andrew is into it too. Could it be that our house will actually become clutter free (unless you count the storage space and I do not ;) )? I got up this morning and right away did the dishes and started laundry. Baby clothes laundry. Once I'm done this blog post I'm going to tackle the kids' bedroom closet, which is a dumping ground for miscellanea. Tomorrow I'll re-organize and clean my bathroom shelves.

I have almost assembled all my birth day supplies. Now I have my nice pack of Depends. Almost felt uncomfortable having those in the cart and checking them out. But then there's a whole aisle of adult diapers so I'm sure the cashiers check out plenty. I got my 30cm elastic bandage for belly binding after the birth. I have gone through all the baby clothes and located a bunch of onesies and sleepers which I am washing right now. I feel in good shape!

The other thing that is different is how scattered my thoughts can get. These are the first signs of pregnancy brain- well that I have noticed. Andrew might have a different take on it!

Now that the baby is engaged (seemingly head down) I feel kind of stiff after I get up from sitting and I am waddling a little more. But otherwise I feel quite comfortable. Not at all feeling like I want this to be over. I wonder if I will a month from now when I'm 40 weeks?
